| We are hiring a dental assistant for our growing periodontal practice. The dental assistant will help with preparing patients for treatment, sterilizing instruments, setting up rooms, as well as assisting hygiene and the front office. Assistants will need a high school diploma or equivalent, certification in an accredited dental assisting program, and dental x-ray certification. Technical skills, good written and verbal communication skills and a desire to provide a great level of patient care are also required. Responsibilities: Prepare patients for dental work. Help with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments operatories. Assist the periodontist with procedures. Provide safe and effective patient care. Record treatments. Expose and care for dental x-rays. Provide patients with information regarding dental hygiene and oral health care. Collect and record medical and dental histories. Provide postoperative instructions as directed by the periodontist.
